Partnerships
SWIA is a Government Agency, within the Scottish Government Education Directorate. We work closely with:
- other inspection and audit organisations, such as the Care Commission and HM Inspectorates of Education, Probation, Constabulary and Prisons, the Mental Welfare Commission, NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, Communities Scotland and Audit Scotland
- many agencies concerned with social work service developments, including the Scottish Social Services Council, higher education bodies, National Training Initiatives and Careers Scotland
- Scottish Government Directorates and organisations representing the agencies who deliver services, including CoSLA, the Association of Directors of Social Work, the Scottish Prison Service, NHS and the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland
- members of the public who use social work services or who are affected by them in any way (perhaps as a carer)
People's views are central to our independent inspections and reviews. We always consult with service users, carers, social workers and social work managers. We gather views across all sectors, through questionnaires and face-to-face meetings.
